Matic robot vacuum price to increase by $250 in September
The Matic robot vacuum, a favorite among reviewers, will cost $1,495 from September 9th, up $250 from its current price. The company cites rising component costs for the hike.

Matic has announced a price increase for its robot vacuum and mop, effective September 9th. The new price will be $1,495, up from $1,245. According to the company, the increase reflects a tenfold rise in costs for memory and other components.
Customers who purchase directly from Matic will receive a year's worth of replacement bags (12 bags in total, shipped free) valued at $96. The company has also extended its return policy from 60 days to six months.
The Matic has been praised for its human-like navigation. Reviewer Jennifer Pattison Tuohy noted that in six months of use, it got stuck only twice, even in a cluttered three-story home with pets, thick rugs, and high transitions. It offers powerful suction and a self-cleaning roller mop, continues vacuuming even when the water tank is empty, and is quiet enough for home office use.
Maintenance is minimal: the vacuum carries its own water tank and stores dirty water in a disposable bag, eliminating the need for a large multifunction dock. It can also drive itself to the sink for refills. Unlike many competitors, the Matic can operate completely offline, storing maps and data locally rather than in the cloud.
