The new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is an electric long-haul truck designed for the 40–45 ton class. With 600 hp and a range of up to 550 km on a single charge, it ranks among the most powerful electric trucks on the market.

Charging infrastructure as key to success

The vehicle supports charging at up to 600 kW, with potential future upgrade to 1 MW. The manufacturer emphasizes that successful adoption requires not only high charging power but also reliable infrastructure and user-friendly apps for fleet management.

Lower operating costs

Compared to a diesel truck, the eActros 600 consumes the equivalent of about 13 liters of diesel per 100 km, while a conventional model uses around 30 liters. This difference can pay off within four years, especially for companies with high daily mileage.

Driving experience

Thanks to its electric motor, the truck delivers instant torque, quiet operation, and smooth acceleration, a stark contrast to traditional diesel engines. Many fleet operators already predict that electric models will account for a growing share of new vehicles in the coming years.

Kempower: evolving charging technology

Finnish company Kempower has been developing fast-charging solutions since 2018. Its current stations deliver up to 320 kW and support 800-volt architecture. The company notes that even more powerful solutions will be needed to serve both passenger and commercial electric vehicles in the future.
