Mercedes-Benz has officially started series production of its new all-electric model, the VLE. Production is taking place at the Vitoria plant in Spain, which underwent significant modernization including investments in new body, paint, and assembly lines as well as logistics and IT systems. The pre-production phase began in September 2025.

The VLE is the first model based on the VAN.EA electric platform, replacing the previous EQV. It combines luxury minivan comfort with modern electric vehicle technology. The vehicle features an 800-volt architecture enabling charging power of up to 300 kW. According to the manufacturer, a 15-minute charge provides enough energy for up to 355 km (WLTP), while the total range reaches approximately 700 km. Mercedes claims that with just one short charging stop, trips of up to 1000 km are possible.

The starting price is €82,260, with more affordable versions planned in the future at around €70,000. The Vitoria plant, which employs about 5,000 workers, now becomes a key hub for Mercedes-Benz Vans electrification in Europe.
