Meta is entering the gaming space with the launch of a new app called Pocket, which enables users to generate small, interactive apps and games using AI prompts. The software stems from Meta’s acquisition earlier this year of the team behind the AI-driven gaming platform Gizmo. Pocket describes itself as “a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos,” the term for the interactive experiences it hosts. The app also features a scrollable feed where users can play with gizmos created by others.

Based on screenshots from Google Play, Pocket closely resembles Gizmo’s original app, which remains available. Like Pocket, Gizmo allows users to build small interactive experiences through written AI prompts and includes a discovery feed. The launch was first spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer and frequent discoverer of new apps, who posted a Play Store screenshot on X. According to data from app intelligence provider Appfigures, Pocket first appeared on June 29, 2026 on both the App Store and Google Play. Due to its newness, the firm cannot yet determine if it has seen any downloads. Other outlets, including Business Insider and Investing.com, have also reported on Paluzzi’s finding. Meta has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Pocket is another example of Meta’s push to make AI creation tools more mainstream, following earlier efforts such as AI-generated images via its Meta AI app and AI videos created with its app called Vibes. Meta has also added AI features across its social platforms and into its video-editing app for creators, Edits. Given that Meta has not officially announced Pocket’s debut, it is likely still in an initial experimentation phase. In contrast, Gizmo has achieved 635,000 lifetime installs across iOS and Android, with a 98% positive sentiment rating according to Appfigures.
