French tyre maker Michelin has introduced a new tyre, the Workxbib, designed for agricultural trailers and towed equipment. German farming outlet agrarheute reported on the launch on 1 November 2026. It may interest farmers because the manufacturer promises a longer working life for tyres on heavy-duty transport.

Uses and availability

The tyre is intended for a range of work, including dump trailers, slurry tankers, manure and compost spreaders and other farm machinery. The manufacturer says it can also be used on construction sites, for haulage and in livestock farming.

The Workxbib is currently available in size 600/55 R26.5. Sizes 650/55 R26.5, 600/60 R30.5 and 560/60 R22.5 will follow in the second quarter of 2027. In France it is already offered on trailers from the Maupu, Deves and Sodimac brands, and other trailer makers are expected to follow. On the replacement market, the 600/55 R26.5 size is available.

Design and specifications

Michelin says the tyre has an optimised contact patch. The flat tread, solid tread blocks and reinforced shoulders spread the load evenly, which is meant to give greater stability on the road and on slopes, even under heavy loads and at high speeds. Steel belt layers raise puncture resistance, while a special rubber compound protects the tread and sidewalls.

At 6 bar inflation pressure, the tyre can carry up to 6,500 kg at speeds of up to 65 km/h. Michelin presents it as a complement to its Tailxbib in its range of tyres for trailers and farm equipment.

Michelin claims the new design delivers up to 80% longer service life than the previous generation of its trailer tyres. In field use with heavy slurry tankers over more than 50,000 kilometres and around 2,000 operating hours, the company says it observed low and even wear.
