Morgan Unveils Exclusive Midsummer Coupe – Only Nine Examples to Be Built
British retro car maker Morgan, in collaboration with Pininfarina, has presented the Midsummer Coupe prototype featuring a panoramic roof and a luxury yacht-inspired interior. Only nine units will be produced, each customized for its owner.

British retro sports car manufacturer Morgan continues its partnership with Italian design house Pininfarina by expanding the exclusive Midsummer model family. Following the open-top version limited to 50 units, the Midsummer Coupe prototype has now been revealed.
The coupe stands out with an impressive panoramic roof divided lengthwise by a central structural pillar. The glazing flows seamlessly into a semicircular rear window that extends to the trunk lid. Despite its complex construction, the roof adds only about 2.5% to the vehicle's weight compared to the Morgan Supersport.
To achieve this design, engineers modified the body structure. The front pillars are made of aluminum, and the windshield is integrated without a separate frame. The interior features light tones and teak wood trim, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of luxury yachts. The side windows are inspired by 1960s Italian sports cars and can be opened by lifting upward.
The technical base is the Morgan Supersport 400, from which it inherits a 3.0-liter BMW inline-six engine producing 408 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Morgan plans to build only nine examples, each individually tailored in collaboration with the respective buyer. This means every Midsummer Coupe will be a unique collector's car combining British craftsmanship, Italian design, and BMW technology.
Founded in 1909, Morgan Motor Company is known for preserving traditional manufacturing methods rarely seen in the modern auto industry, such as extensive hand assembly of body and interior, hand-formed aluminum panels, and individually crafted wood and leather finishes.
