Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, security concerns in the museum community have become not only relevant but also existential. To discuss these challenges, the Latvian Radio program "Kultūras rondo" brought together museum workers and local government representatives.

The conversation focused on experiences in developing action plans for crisis and emergency situations. Particular attention was given to border regions, where security risks are higher. Participants shared practical examples and challenges in planning the protection of museum collections and staff.

The discussion emphasized the need for closer cooperation between museums and local governments, as well as regular updates to plans. The possibility of learning from other countries' experiences, especially from Ukrainian museums that have faced wartime conditions, was also mentioned.

The program aimed to foster dialogue and exchange knowledge so that Latvian museums would be better prepared for potential crises.
