Ukraine's anti-corruption bureau detains cyber department chief at prosecutor's office

Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), began investigative actions on September 4 inside the building of the Prosecutor General's Office (OGP). According to the agencies' statement, the operation targets a criminal organization allegedly headed by an official within the Prosecutor General's Office.
NABU and SAP said the group is suspected of providing cover for a network of fraudulent call centers and of laundering illegally obtained assets.

Sources in business circles cited by Ukrainska Pravda said NABU and SAP have already detained Serhii Kropyva, head of the Prosecutor General's Office's Cyber Department. The agencies themselves have not officially named the detained individual while the investigative actions are still underway.
