Search for survivors under way after 10-storey-plus building collapses in Nairobi
A building of more than 10 storeys that was under construction has collapsed in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, and efforts are under way to reach survivors trapped in the rubble. Kenya has also reported a second death from Ebola.
A building of more than 10 storeys, which was still under construction, has collapsed in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Rescuers are scrambling to get through the rubble to survivors believed to be trapped inside. The report comes from "Eye on Africa", the France 24 programme covering African affairs, issued on 23 October.
Ebola outbreak in Kenya
The same programme notes that Kenya has announced a second death linked to the Ebola virus. Earlier this week the country had recorded nine cases. All of them were traced back to the first Ebola patient, who died earlier this month.
Art festival in Paris
The programme also looks at the 11th edition of the contemporary art festival "Also Known As Africa", held in Paris. For this segment it speaks with Amadeo Carvalho, an artist from Cape Verde.
The source gives no further details on the cause of the collapse, the number of casualties or how the rescue operation is progressing.
