Narva-Jõesuu Lighthouse Confirms Tourist Magnet Status Over Two Summer Seasons
On International Lighthouse Day, the Narva-Jõesuu lighthouse attracted hundreds of visitors and continues to be a major tourism draw, with plans for further development.

On July 1, International Day of Navigation Marks, more than a dozen lighthouses in Estonia offered free admission. The Narva-Jõesuu lighthouse received over a hundred visitors in the first two hours alone.
Local resident Irina visited with her family, hoping to enjoy the sun and end the evening on the beach. Visitors Nelli and Lina said they like the lighthouse because it shines beautifully at night when the large lantern is turned on.
The Narva-Jõesuu lighthouse has been open to the public relatively recently. Over its two full summer seasons, it has proven to be a tourist magnet for the resort. Last season, the lighthouse saw 5,000 paying visitors. Though this season started slowly due to bad weather, around 7,000 people have visited so far, according to Narva-Jõesuu tourism advisor Anna Markova.
By the end of summer, construction work on the sea mole and the nearby Cultural Quarter area will be completed, connected to the lighthouse by a promenade. Later, a museum dedicated to the sea and fishing will open at the lighthouse.
