Weather forecast for Latvia: warm days ahead, then a shift

According to the latest forecasts, Latvia will see a significant warm-up in the coming days, but temperatures are expected to drop and rain chances increase around the Jāņi (Midsummer) holiday.

On Thursday and Friday, the air will gradually warm up – up to +22°C on Thursday and +24°C on Friday. Cloud cover will be variable, with little precipitation – only isolated showers.

Saturday will be mostly dry and sunny, with temperatures rising to +22..+27°C across the country. Sunday, however, will bring sultry weather with thunderstorms in many areas.

Sunday, June 21, marks the summer solstice at 11:24 AM – the longest day of the year and the shortest night (from Saturday to Sunday). The night is expected to be mostly dry and warm, with temperatures not falling below +13..+18°C.

Midsummer outlook: possible rainy turn

Monday, June 22, is currently forecast to be mostly dry and sunny, but a few degrees cooler than the weekend.

Starting from Jāņi, further cooling is expected, though forecasts remain uncertain. A cyclone may arrive during the holiday, bringing cloudy and rainy weather. However, it is also possible that rain will be only local and brief, with sunshine pushing temperatures above +20°C in many places.
