Little rain expected in Latvia this weekend and next week
Forecasters say Latvia will see little precipitation both this weekend and next week. Colder weather is expected at the end of October, although every day in the past month has been warmer than normal.

Latvia can expect mostly dry weather with little precipitation both this weekend and throughout next week, forecasters say. The outlook matters for anyone planning outdoor activities, as no sharp weather changes are predicted.
The weekend
In the second half of this week, brief rain is expected in places, mainly in Kurzeme, the western region of Latvia. Winds will mostly be light, though a stronger southerly wind will occasionally blow along the coast.
As skies clear, night-time temperatures in parts of the east of the country will fall to between 0 and -2 degrees Celsius, while elsewhere they will stay above zero. Fog will form in some places. Daytime highs will reach +9 to +15 degrees.
Next week
An anticyclone, a high-pressure system that usually brings calm conditions, is expected to shape the weather for most of next week. Dry weather will therefore dominate, although clouds may still move in. Air temperatures will not change sharply.
Cooler end to October
According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, it will turn colder at the end of October, with the average air temperature falling two degrees below the norm. Until now the weather has been unusually warm: over the past month, every day in Latvia has been warmer than normal.
