The director of the Emergency Medical Service (NMPD) in Latvia, Liene Cipule, shared her views on life choices and education in an interview with Radio NABA's program "Grāds kabatā". Contrary to the common advice of "doing what you love," she suggests that young people should first acquire a broad education that offers the widest possibilities for self-realization. Only later, throughout life, can they focus on their passions and hobbies, since life is long enough.
Cipule believes her own life is a constant learning process, where each new level of education brings significant opportunities. She revealed that if she were to study again, she would choose writing or philosophy.
In the interview, she emphasized that one can learn a great deal over a lifetime and encouraged young people not to hesitate to invest time in foundational education, which will serve as a solid basis for the future.
