Over the past day, medics from the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) have responded to several calls for individuals experiencing heat-related health problems. According to EMS representative Ilze Bukša, help was provided to children who had spent the entire day outdoors or even in a pool, but fell ill in the evening.

Assistance was also given to people who engaged in intense physical activity during the hottest part of the day, as well as those who overheated in unventilated spaces, including workplaces and events. The heat has also exacerbated health issues for people with chronic conditions.

The EMS reminds the public to avoid sun exposure and physical exertion during the hottest hours, to drink fluids regularly, wear lightweight, light-colored clothing, and ensure proper ventilation of rooms. Special attention should be paid to children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses.
