Rescuing animals in Donetsk
Mykola's dedication to animal care began in his native city of Donetsk after the war broke out there. As residents fled the fighting, many were forced to leave their pets behind. Mykola started collecting these abandoned animals and looking after them.
Evacuation to Latvia
When living conditions under shelling became too dangerous and staying in Donetsk was no longer viable, Mykola made the decision to evacuate. He relocated from Ukraine to Latvia together with more than twenty animals he had managed to save. He now continues to dedicate his time to caring for them in his new home in Latvia.
