Latvian company Bruntor produces electric cargo scooters intended for city maintenance workers, delivery companies, postal workers and hospitals. Founder Raimonds Jurgelis told TVNET in an interview how an accidental everyday situation grew into a business idea and how the road led from humble beginnings to European cities.

According to the publication’s headline, the company’s growth story began with a skateboard and a potato box. Today the company’s products are used in daily work by city services, delivery providers, postal offices and healthcare institutions. Jurgelis explained that the idea came from an everyday situation that prompted thinking about a practical solution for urban environments and logistics.

The entrepreneur also said the path to success has not been easy. One day, regulations changed, and the product became illegal. That turn of events created serious complications, but support from the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) helped the company keep going. According to Jurgelis, LIAA’s support was especially significant at moments when obstacles seemed insurmountable.

Electric cargo scooters offer an environmentally friendly alternative for city travel and goods delivery. They suit various use cases — from hospital staff to postal carriers and delivery or maintenance businesses. The story of Bruntor illustrates how a domestic idea combined with support and persistence can become a product used internationally.
