From Krāslava to Rīga: New Theatre Festival 'Homo Novus' Unveils Program
The international new theatre festival 'Homo Novus' will run from September 4 to 12, with events staged along the Daugava River from Krāslava to Rīga. Organizers have announced the full lineup.

The international new theatre festival 'Homo Novus' has announced its full program for this year. The festival will take place from September 4 to 12, with its events spread across a wide area along the Daugava River, ranging from the town of Krāslava all the way to Rīga.
Unconventional venues
Instead of relying solely on traditional theatre houses, the festival will use locations not typically associated with performance art. These include the Latvian National Museum of Art, the creative factory quarter 'Veldze', the Great Cemetery (Lielie kapi), and the grounds of a road construction company. Some events will even take place inside a residential trailer, according to organizers.
A program designed for unhurried exploration
Organizers say the program was deliberately built to let visitors experience the festival without rushing. Many events will take place in close geographic proximity to one another, their themes will echo each other, and several performances will be staged multiple times during the festival, giving audiences greater flexibility in choosing which events to attend.
