The Latvian choir in Norway, «Laipa», has just held its autumn camp, where 33 singers from various Norwegian cities worked together on improving their musical performance. Jānis Ozols, artistic director of the choir «Maska» in Latvia, took part as guest conductor.

For diaspora choirs, it is important not only to gather and sing Latvian songs but also to refine their musical skills. «Laipa» does this regularly: the choir develops its abilities once every six months, and the autumn camp is one such occasion.

The participants come from different cities across Norway, so such events let them meet and rehearse together. The headline of the original report quotes the saying «You can always learn something new», reflecting the aim of the camp: learning and improvement.
