Nottingham Forest appoint Oliver Glasner as fifth head coach in a year
Nottingham Forest have named Oliver Glasner as their new head coach, replacing Vitor Pereira who was sacked on Tuesday. This marks the fifth managerial change at the club in less than 12 months.

Nottingham Forest have appointed former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner as their fifth head coach in less than a year. The Austrian replaces Vitor Pereira, who was dismissed on Tuesday.
Forest activated a clause in Pereira's contract, informing him of the decision two minutes before the clause was due to expire in June. Contact with the 51-year-old Glasner, who left Palace at the end of last season, was initiated earlier this summer.
Nuno Espirito Santo began last season as Forest boss, while Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and Pereira have all had spells in charge since September. Under Pereira, appointed in February, Forest finished 16th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone, and reached the Europa League semi-finals, where they lost to eventual winners Aston Villa.
Glasner boasts a strong track record: he previously managed LASK, Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, winning the Europa League with the German side in 2022. He joined Crystal Palace in 2024 and led them to the Europa Conference League title last season, following their FA Cup success in 2025. He also won the Community Shield in August, beating Liverpool on penalties.
In January, Glasner announced he would leave Palace at the end of the season because he wanted a new challenge, despite being offered a new contract. He now takes over at Nottingham Forest.
