First wet snow and icy roads expected in Latvia in early November
Forecasters say Latvia will turn colder in November, with wet snow more likely from 4 November and night temperatures possibly falling to -5 degrees.

Air temperatures in Latvia will gradually fall as November begins, and wet snow is expected in places for the first time this season, according to forecasters. Drivers should also be aware that ice may form on roads.
Later this week
The weather will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain and fog. A south-westerly wind will shift to a northerly one, and it will mostly be light. In most of the country, temperatures at night and in the morning will be between +3 and +9 degrees, rising to +7 to +12 degrees around midday.
Next week
From 4 November, the likelihood of wet snow will increase, and at times the wind will be gusty. At the start of the week it may still reach +10 degrees in places, but later in the week night temperatures could drop to -5 degrees. In such conditions, ice may form on roads.
Longer-term outlook
According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, temperatures in Latvia over the next two weeks are expected to be one to two degrees below the norm. Precipitation is forecast to be close to the long-term average.
