The British newspaper The Guardian has compiled its November list of theatre that can be watched or heard online. At its centre is a four-hour documentary play by Swiss director Milo Rau about the trial of the men who drugged and raped Frenchwoman Gisèle Pelicot. He created it with Servane Dècle.

The Pelicot trial on stage

Rau's work often draws on current news, including wars in Iraq and Congo and the exploitation of migrant workers. The Pelicot production has been performed around the world. London's Young Vic theatre will stage it at County Hall on 30 November. Tickets sold out quickly, but the performance will be livestreamed in full. The cast includes Adjoa Andoh, Rosie Jones and Olivia Williams. Young Vic head Nadia Fall said she was struck by the act of witnessing: it is not a traditional play with scenes and costumes, she said, but the facts, which "just floors you".

Other picks

Internationaal Theater Amsterdam has launched its own record label. Its first compilation, ITA Music Vol 1: New Originals, gathers the most requested music from recent productions, including tracks by Thijs van Vuure from an adaptation of James Baldwin's novel Giovanni's Room. It is available on Spotify.

On Sadler's Wells Digital Stage, the hour-long dance film DuEls was made by Damien Jalet with Erna Ómarsdóttir. Performers move among the statues of Oslo's Vigeland Museum. Jalet became widely known for choreographing the viral Storm video.

From 26 November, NT at Home will offer Tom Stoppard's play Arcadia, directed by Carrie Cracknell at the Old Vic, with Isis Hainsworth in the cast. BBC iPlayer carries a film based on Selina Thompson's show Salt., about the transatlantic slave triangle, which won several awards at the 2017 Edinburgh fringe.
