Cooler Weather, Wet Snow and Icy Roads Expected in Latvia in November
Forecasters say Latvia will turn colder at the start of November. The chance of wet snow rises from 4 November, and roads may ice over at night.

Air temperatures in Latvia will gradually fall as November begins, forecasters say. The likelihood of wet snow and icing will be higher in particular during next week, which may also affect driving conditions on roads.
Second half of this week
The second half of this week will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain and fog. A south-westerly wind will shift to a northerly one, and it will mostly blow weakly. In most of the country, night and morning temperatures will range from +3 to +9 degrees, while around midday they will climb to between +7 and +12 degrees.
Next week
From 4 November the chance of wet snow increases, and at times gusty wind is expected. At the beginning of the week the thermometer may still reach +10 degrees in places, but in the latter part of the week nighttime temperatures could drop to -5 degrees. Icing may form on roads.
Longer-range outlook
According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, temperatures in Latvia in the next week and the one after will be one to two degrees below normal. Precipitation is forecast to be close to the long-term average.
