Novosibirsk region issues its first-ever drone threat alert — 3,000 kilometers from the front
The Novosibirsk region, located over 3,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, issued its first-ever drone threat alert. Residents were urged to stay indoors and avoid windows.
A drone threat alert was declared in the Novosibirsk region for the first time, urging residents to stay home if possible and keep away from windows. The alert was issued through the Unified State System for the Prevention and Liquidation of Emergency Situations. It advised people to take shelter in a room without windows with solid walls, and not to approach windows. Those outside or in vehicles were told to make their way to the nearest shelter or other safe location.
This was the first such alert in the Novosibirsk region. Regional authorities had not commented on the alert as of publication. The Novosibirsk region is more than 3,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
In late May, a missile threat alert was declared across the Ural Federal District for the first time, covering the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, and Tyumen regions, as well as the Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts.
