According to the latest OECD Economic Survey of Latvia, the country's living standards have significantly approached the OECD average over the last quarter-century. However, the organization points out that structural issues continue to hinder further progress.

The survey emphasizes that raising living standards in Latvia would be most effectively achieved through investments in healthcare and improvements in public administration efficiency. These sectors are identified as key areas to continue closing the gap with higher living standards prevalent in OECD countries.
