Ten years ago, Ineta and Dzintars Bulavs decided to leave Riga and move to the countryside, settling in Krape parish in the Ogre region. There, the family began growing autumn raspberries, building their farm from the ground up.

From a small start to several hectares

The farm did not appear overnight — it has gradually expanded over the years, and the raspberry plantings now cover several hectares of land. The family shared their story on the Latvian Radio program "Stiprie stāsti" ("Strong Stories").

Processing the harvest on site

The Bulavs family does not limit itself to growing fresh berries. In addition to raspberries, the farm also grows other fruits and vegetables, and the entire harvest is not only picked but also processed by the family themselves. In this way, the farm has grown into a full-fledged rural enterprise that covers both cultivation and processing of produce.

The story of the Bulavs family's move from the city to the countryside reflects a broader trend in Latvia, where people choose to change their lifestyle and turn to farming, starting on a small scale and gradually growing their business.
