Opera One browser now lets users run local AI models

Opera has released a new preview feature for Opera One users that provides access to local AI models through the WebAI standard. It is due to arrive soon in Opera GX and Opera Neon as well.

The developers of the Opera web browser have introduced a new preview feature for users of Opera One. It gives access to local artificial intelligence (AI) models by using the WebAI standard.

Opera One is the first of the company's browsers to receive this functionality. It is expected to become available soon in the Opera GX and Opera Neon versions too.

WebAI is a proposed web standard that is backed by several major technology companies. The list of supporters in the source material is incomplete, so no specific companies are named here.

The feature is currently offered as a preview, meaning it is not yet a finished, fully released solution.
