Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Latvia on Tuesday
Rain and thunderstorms are forecast across most of Latvia on Tuesday, with locally heavy downpours. In South Kurzeme, afternoon wind gusts could reach up to 18 m/s.
Meteorologists predict unstable weather conditions for Tuesday in Latvia. Most parts of the country will experience rain, with some areas facing heavy showers and thunderstorms. Winds will mainly be light from the west and southwest. However, in the South Kurzeme region, afternoon westerly and northwesterly gusts are expected to reach 14–18 meters per second.
Sunny spells are more likely in the regions of Vidzeme and Latgale. Maximum air temperatures will range from +14 to +19 degrees Celsius.
In Riga, occasional rain and possible thunderstorms are forecast. The wind will be light from the southwest. The temperature in the capital will reach +17 degrees.
The weather is being influenced by a low-pressure area, with atmospheric pressure at sea level between 1000 and 1003 hPa.
