Temperatures in Latvia to reach +13°C on Tuesday, gusty winds in Ventspils
On Tuesday, 27 October, Latvia can expect partly clear weather with no significant precipitation and daytime highs of +9 to +13°C. Wind gusts in Ventspils are forecast to reach 16 metres per second.
Latvia is set for relatively mild autumn weather on Tuesday, 27 October, with daytime air temperatures rising to between +9 and +13°C. Forecasters say the sun will shine across most of the country and no significant precipitation is expected, although stronger winds are forecast in Ventspils.
Morning conditions
Early on Tuesday the weather was partly cloudy. Brief rain fell in places in Southern Kurzeme, while fog formed in some areas. Light to moderate south and southwest winds were blowing, and air quality was mostly good.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC), the temperature at 5:00 ranged from +5.6°C in Skrīveri to +11.8°C at Liepāja port. Relative humidity was 90–100%, and around 80% in places along the coast. In Riga the sky was partly cloudy, a southerly wind blew at three metres per second, and the temperature was +6 to +7°C.
Forecast for the day
Cloud cover will decrease during the day. Winds will remain light to moderate from the south and southwest, but slightly stronger along the coast. In Ventspils, gusts will reach 16 metres per second. No precipitation is expected in Riga, where the temperature will climb to +12°C.
The weather is being shaped by an area of high pressure. Sea-level atmospheric pressure will range from 1,018 hectopascals near Ventspils to 1,024 hectopascals in Latgale.

On Monday afternoon, maximum temperatures in the LVĢMC observation network ranged from +10.1°C in Skrīveri to +12.7°C in Liepāja. The highest temperature in Europe on 26 October was +30°C in Spain, while the lowest overnight into Tuesday was -9°C in the mountains of central and southeastern Europe.
