In July 2020, a woman arrived at a hospital for a planned gynecological procedure. The surgery was performed using a laparoscopic method with a diathermal scalpel. The following day, on 10 July, the patient was urgently admitted to another medical facility, where doctors discovered a defect on the left side of the bladder vault.
This incident led to a lengthy legal battle. The patient filed a claim against the Health Inspectorate, demanding €71,145 in compensation for the suffering endured and the doctor’s alleged unprofessionalism. The hospital’s name has been anonymized in the court ruling. The case is ongoing, with the patient seeking a fair outcome.
