Pakistan Announces Final Text of US-Iran Peace Agreement Agreed
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the final text of a peace agreement between the US and Iran has been agreed upon, but both sides have given conflicting signals about the deal.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday on social media platform X that the final, agreed text of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran has been reached. Pakistan, which acted as a mediator in the negotiations, is now closely working with both sides to finalize the next steps.
Iranian media previously published a draft agreement consisting of 14 points. According to the draft, the US and its allies would have to pay reparations to Iran for damages caused during the war and present a plan to rebuild Iran worth at least $300 billion.
US President Donald Trump, however, rejected the version made public by Iran, saying it had nothing to do with the conditions agreed upon in writing. Trump said that Iran's approach made it impossible to speak of good-faith negotiations. US Vice President JD Vance, who is expected to sign the peace agreement, echoed Trump's criticism and dismissed Iran's claims.
Iran itself has sent contradictory signals regarding the agreement. A source close to the Iranian negotiating team told the Fars news agency that talks are ongoing and no final agreement has been reached yet. The source also denied claims that the agreement would be signed on Sunday in Geneva.
Nevertheless, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Friday that Iran and the US have never been closer to reaching an agreement to end the war in the Middle East.
