Panamanian striker Vergara scores in farewell match as Auda beats Super Nova
Hosue Vergara scored in his last game in the Latvian top flight, helping Auda to a 2-0 away win over Super Nova. The 18-year-old will continue his career at Belgian club Gent.

On Sunday, in the 19th round of the Latvian Higher League, Auda secured a 2-0 victory away against Super Nova. Panamanian forward Hosue Vergara played his final match in Latvia, scoring a goal to contribute to the win. Vergara is moving to Belgian first-division club Gent.
Early in the game, in the 23rd minute, Vergara had a chance to score from a penalty kick, but Super Nova goalkeeper Sergejs Vilkovs saved the shot. However, in the 50th minute, following a pass from Bartlemy Diedhiou, Vergara found the net, putting the visitors ahead. In the 71st minute, Kader Koné, unmarked, doubled Auda's lead.
This season in the league, Vergara scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 18 matches, making him one of the top scorers.
Other Sunday matches: Jelgava hosts Tukums 2000, and Riga faces Liepāja at home. On Saturday, Daugavpils beat Grobiņa 1-0. On Monday, RFS will play against Ogre United.
In the standings after 18 rounds, RFS leads with 46 points, followed by Riga with 45. Auda has 38 points from 19 games, ranking third. Liepāja has 25, Daugavpils 24, Super Nova 20, Tukums 2000 17, Grobiņa and Jelgava each have 16, and Ogre United has seven points.
The 2026 season is played in four rounds, with 36 matchdays. The final round is scheduled for November 8.
