Punk rock band “PND” to premiere new song “Kad sāp” on 31 October
Latvian punk rock band “PND” will perform its new song “Kad sāp” for the first time at the Latvian First Rock Café on 31 October. It is the second single from the band’s upcoming third studio album.

The Latvian punk rock band “PND”, founded in 1998, will publicly perform its newest song, “Kad sāp” (“When It Hurts”), for the first time on 31 October. The premiere is planned for the band’s concert at the Latvian First Rock Café, and the same day the song will also become available on the music streaming platform Spotify.
“Kad sāp” is the second single from the band’s upcoming third studio album. It was recorded with the participation of sound engineer Gats Zaķis, whom the article’s author describes as the best sound engineer in Latvia.
How the song is described
Ralfs Dravnieks, a longtime contemporary of the band, notes that “PND” has written songs that endure, get passed on and sometimes become folk songs over time. “Kad sāp”, in his view, belongs to a different side of the band’s work, one that sings about the rough and sharp face of life. He lists “Celies”, “Pārdaugava”, “Vīru dzīve” and “Viens pret kori” in the same group. Dravnieks believes the song will be especially meaningful for many who grew up with “PND”.
The article’s author listened to the song file before its official release. He compares it to a cross between “Vīru dzīve” and “Pārdaugava” with a touch of “Rūsas zobs”, but with a rougher and somewhat heavier sound.
The band’s discography
In more than a quarter of a century of existence, “PND” has released only two albums. The most recent, “Nenosaukts” (“Untitled”), came out in 2022. Those who want to hear the song before it reaches streaming platforms will need to go to the concert at the Rock Café; everyone else must wait until November.
