World Cup 2026: Brazil and Morocco draw in heavyweight Group C opener

Brazil and Morocco played out a 1-1 draw in their Group C match at MetLife Stadium, which will host the final.

Brazil and Morocco could not be separated on Saturday in a Group C clash at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with the match ending 1-1. The contest lived up to its heavyweight billing as both teams fought hard without giving an inch.

Morocco took the lead through a stunning lob from Saibari, but Brazil responded with a superb finish from Vinicius Junior to level the score before halftime. The second half saw both sides create chances, but neither could find a winner.

MetLife Stadium is set to host the World Cup final this year.
