Philips Hue Introduces Wired Wall Modules, New Lamps, and Upgraded Bulbs
Philips Hue has launched its first wired wall modules, allowing non-smart lights to be controlled via the Hue app. The company also introduced more affordable Play lamps and upgraded candle bulbs with Matter-over-Thread.

New Products from Philips Hue
Smart lighting company Philips Hue has unveiled its first wired wall modules. These devices install behind existing wall switches and, for the first time, bring non-smart lights into the Hue ecosystem.
Wired Wall Switch Modules
The modules are in-wall relays that control any connected standard light, such as recessed ceiling or pendant lights. Once installed, these lights can be managed through the Hue app alongside Hue's smart bulbs.
While other companies like Aqara and Shelly offer similar relays, these are the first to work directly with the Hue app.
Three versions are available: a 1-channel module for single rocker switches, a 2-channel module for double rocker switches, and a dimmer module. Pricing starts at €44.99.
A fourth module is a wired version of Hue's battery-powered wall module, allowing existing switches to control Hue lights. It supports MotionAware and can be part of the whole-home motion-sensing system.
Key note: The wall modules are currently available only in Europe. Signify CTO George Yianni stated there are no plans for a US launch, but the company would consider it if interest is sufficient.
New Play Lamps
Hue has introduced the Play Table Lamp ($79.99/€79.99) and Play Floor Lamp Large ($149.99/€149.99) as lower-cost alternatives to its Signe series. Designed for the Hue entertainment ecosystem, they can sync with movies, music, and games via the Philips Hue Sync Box or Sync apps.
Upgraded Candle Bulbs
The E14 candle bulbs (white and color) cost $109.99/€109.99 for a two-pack. Upgrades include higher lumen output, a wider white light spectrum (1,000–20,000K), and Chromasync color technology. The bulbs dim to 0.2% and now feature Matter-over-Thread, allowing direct pairing with Apple Home or Google Home without a Hue Bridge.
