Oily skin with unwanted shine is a common issue that can be addressed with the right cosmetic products. Specialists highlight five key ingredients that help regulate sebum production and improve skin condition.

Hyaluronic Acid

This substance naturally occurs in the body and is essential for skin hydration. Its levels decrease with age, so additional intake is recommended both orally and topically. Hyaluronic acid can bind large amounts of water, helping the skin maintain firmness and elasticity. It is best applied to damp skin after cleansing.

White Clay

Cosmetic white clay is finely milled, allowing it to easily penetrate pores and absorb excess oil, sweat, and impurities. It is used as a mask, mixed with water and applied to clean skin for up to 15 minutes. After rinsing, a moisturizing cream should be applied.

Glycolic Acid

This acid promotes exfoliation of dead skin cells, normalizes sebaceous gland function, and reduces pores. It also hydrates the skin by attracting water. A gentle peel is recommended no more than twice a day, along with a toner and cream.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide, or vitamin B3, strengthens the skin's protective barrier and reduces sebum production. It can be obtained through diet (fish, eggs, legumes) or supplemented. In cosmetics, it is used in facial and body care products.

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid penetrates deep into pores, drawing out oil and impurities, thereby reducing breakouts and smoothing the skin. It should only be applied to oily or acne-prone areas, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Hands must be thoroughly washed after use.
