Early painful lesson didn't stop him from falling in love with bees. A conversation with beekeeper Toms Grudovskis
Beekeeper Toms Grudovskis, who first encountered bees at age five after a painful sting, now continues his father's work at the "Lielvaicēni" farm and serves on the board of the Latvian Beekeeping Association.

Toms Grudovskis's first memory of bees dates back to when he was five years old, when he leaned too close to a hive entrance and got stung. The painful experience, however, did not stop him from continuing to learn about bees, as he told Latvian Radio's programme "Monopols".
Continuing a family tradition
Grudovskis now carries on the work his father began, taking care of bees at the family's "Lielvaicēni" farm.
An active role in the industry
Beyond his hands-on work with bees, Grudovskis is also a board member of the Latvian Beekeeping Association, giving him a role in the organisational side of the industry as well.
