Beach volleyball season for Latvian duos to start in December, but Olympic qualification calendar remains unclear
The 2027 beach volleyball season will begin in December rather than shortly after New Year, as is usual. Leading Latvian duos still lack clarity on the competition calendar and on how to earn ranking points for Olympic qualification.
Professional beach volleyball players usually begin their season shortly after the New Year, but in 2027 it will start as early as December. For Latvia's leading duos, the start date is almost the only certainty ahead of the Olympic season.
Everything else remains very unclear for now. The competition calendar is not settled, and neither are the opportunities to earn the ranking points needed to qualify for the Olympic Games. As a result, the season plans of the Latvian duos remain in question.
