Olga set to be the most popular name next week, PMLP data shows
Next week's name-day names in Latvia are led by Olga, with 15,442 people carrying this name, while Dzelde is the rarest, with only three.

Data from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMLP) show that Olga will be the most prevalent name among entries in Latvia’s name-day calendar for 10–16 August. According to the Population Register, 15,442 residents have this name.
Other frequently recorded names for the coming week include Astrīda (1,505), Elvīra (1,184), Zenta (1,061) and Velga (1,046). The least common calendar names for this period are Dzelde (3), Brencis (5), Virma (9), Audra (17), Zigita (22), Zelda (32), Audris (50), Liega (60) and Inuta (65).
In addition to these, thousands of other people in Latvia will celebrate their name day next week. Among them are 881 Zitas, 833 Rēzijas, 811 Astras, 727 Vizmas, 290 Zelmas, 201 Klāras and 149 Zemgi.
According to the calendar, 10 August marks the name day of Brencis, Audris, Inuta and Audra, while the week ends on 16 August with Astra and Astrīda.
The PMLP statistics are based on the Population Register and provide a snapshot of how common each personal name is in Latvia. The figures are updated regularly by the authority.
