Military exercises in Opole region

Poland will commence military exercises next week in the Opole Voivodeship, located in the southwestern part of the country. The drills will last 11 days, from July 20 to July 31. The voivodeship administration issued a warning to residents and visitors regarding the upcoming activities.

Public advisory

The administration stated that during the exercises, people may see military personnel and equipment, especially on forest roads, but there is no cause for concern. Locals are asked not to photograph the participants or publish such content on social media.

Additionally, on Tuesday or Wednesday, air raid sirens and other warning systems will be activated as part of a planned test. These activations do not indicate any real danger.

Context

The exercises take place amid heightened military activity in the region. However, it is important to note that Poland's drills are scheduled and not linked to any escalation of real military threats.
