Poland reports fresh drone strike in Ukraine near shared border

Poland reported on Thursday that another drone strike had hit Ukrainian territory near the border crossing with Poland. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said a fuel station very close to the Polish border, near the village of Dorohusk, was likely targeted again, resulting in a large explosion.
The Polish Border Guard said the border crossing point near Dorohusk itself had not been directly hit. Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz added that the strike occurred a few kilometres from the border, but confirmed that Polish airspace was not violated this time.
Previous incident
This is not the first such event in the area. On Sunday, several Russian drones had already struck Ukrainian territory near the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing. During that incident, a passenger train travelling from Kyiv to Warsaw was also affected.
Sunday's strikes prompted Poland to sound air raid alarms in Rzeszów and Lublin, urging residents to seek shelter, while the country scrambled F-16 fighter jets. About an hour later, authorities announced the air threat had passed.
A representative of Poland's armed forces operational command later told broadcaster TVN24 that surveillance systems had detected an unmanned aircraft approaching the Polish border from Ukraine. He said it was most likely a jet-powered attack drone that had either been shot down over Ukrainian territory or reached its target there.
