Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz hopes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's promises about opening archives, exhumations, and dialogue will turn into concrete actions. This was reported by Yevropeiska Pravda.
On July 17, Zelenskyy announced the preparation of new decisions in relations with Poland, including on historical issues, opening archives, and conducting search and exhumation works in Volhynia. Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that every statement that brings the resolution of difficult issues between Poland and Ukraine closer deserves attention.
"I hope that Zelenskyy's promises about opening archives, exhumations, and dialogue will turn into concrete actions. This is the direction we have been striving for," the Polish defense minister wrote on social media X. He added that from the beginning, Poland has been betting on dialogue and honoring the memory of the victims of the Volhynia tragedy.
"Today, Poland and Ukraine have a common enemy – Russia. That is where the threat to our order lies. Discord between our nations is in the Kremlin's interest," the minister added.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's decision regarding Ukrainian-Polish relations.
