Ihor Smilansky, CEO of Ukrposhta, announced that Polish customs has been blocking the company's vehicles for the past two months. As a result, Ukrposhta has been forced to redirect all its transit flows through Hungary and Slovakia, bypassing Poland, where there are no complaints against the company.

Smilansky emphasized that customers have not noticed any disruption because the company has established alternative routes. He made the statement in a Facebook post explaining why President Volodymyr Zelensky chose Nova Poshta instead of Ukrposhta to send the Order of the White Eagle to Polish President Karol Nawrocki.

According to Smilansky, one possible reason is that Ukrposhta delivers via Poland's state postal operator Poczta Polska, which may have raised doubts about delivery. Meanwhile, Nova Poshta vehicles are not blocked by Polish customs because it is an express operator, not a state postal operator. Smilansky also suggested that legal restrictions may prohibit state postal operators from sending state awards.
