Politician Andris Morozovs Suffers Heart Attack, Urges Self-Care
Latvian politician Andris Morozovs has suffered a heart attack and undergone emergency surgery. He now emphasizes the importance of health over work and urges everyone to listen to their body's warning signs.
Andris Morozovs, a Latvian politician active in Daugavpils and the Latgale region, was hospitalized after a heart attack. According to his own account, the past weeks had been extremely stressful: work, meetings, election campaigning, and constant travel between Daugavpils, Riga, and across Latgale. The desire to do everything and not let anyone down led to his body forcing a pause — a heart attack, emergency surgery, and several days that made him reconsider his priorities.
Currently, Morozov says the most dangerous phase is over. He feels well and is gradually regaining strength. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Emergency Department and Daugavpils Regional Hospital, especially the doctors, nurses, and all personnel for their professionalism, promptness, and humane attitude. According to him, their work gave him a second chance.
Morozov emphasizes that no office, job, or election campaign is more valuable than health. He admits that people often postpone self-care, but life sometimes harshly reminds that time and health are the most precious. He urges everyone to take care of themselves — not to ignore the body's warning signals, to have regular health check-ups, and to find time for rest, especially in hot weather. He now faces recovery and rehabilitation, following all medical instructions. However, he is confident that he will return to work with renewed strength and a deeper appreciation for life.
