Precise powers to Coronation Stakes victory at Royal Ascot for O'Brien
Trainer Aidan O'Brien continues his remarkable week at Ascot as odds-on favourite Precise wins the Coronation Stakes. Earlier, Venetian Sun claimed the Commonwealth Cup.

Precise dominates Coronation Stakes
Odds-on favourite Precise powered away to win the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, extending trainer Aidan O'Brien's fantastic week. O'Brien has now surpassed 100 career wins at the festival, and Precise looked a class above, beating Touleen and fellow O'Brien horse True Love.
Jockey Ryan Moore, who now has 97 Royal Ascot winners, told ITV Sport: "I just let her get into a rhythm and kept her going forward; we knew she'd stay well. Aidan's horses always run right to the line. She's a high-class filly."
King Charles III presented the trophy for the race, which was first run in 1840 to mark the coronation of Queen Victoria.
Venetian Sun wins Commonwealth Cup
Earlier, the Commonwealth Cup was won by 11-8 favourite Venetian Sun, who saw off Division and 50-1 shot Spicy Marg. Venetian Sun also won at Ascot last year in the Albany Stakes and justified her backing with a strong finish.
"We'd probably prefer a bit of cut in the ground but she can race on all grounds and this is amazing," said Brighton & Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom, who part-owns the horse. "It was a tough race but she was tough enough in the end and the great racehorses do win these difficult finishes when it's close."
