Rasmane and Vassermanis win silver at shooting World Cup stage

Latvian shooting duo Rasmane and Vassermanis lost the duet final at a shooting World Cup stage to a French pair by half a point and took silver.

Latvian shooters Rasmane and Vassermanis took second place at a World Cup stage in sport shooting, an international circuit in which duets from different countries compete. In the final the Latvian pair finished half a point behind a French duet, so Latvia leaves with the silver medal.

Qualification

In qualification, Rasmane scored 287 of a possible 300 points over three series. Vassermanis scored 295, including a maximum 100 in the first series. Together the Latvians totalled 582 points. That made them first among 26 duets and put them comfortably into the final four.

Final

In the final, which was decided on accuracy, the Latvians and the French duet of Camille Jedrzejewski and Theo Mocko fought a close contest. The French pair won 479.5 to 479.0.

Third place went to the Ukrainians Olena Kostevych and Pavlo Korostylov. The British pair of Charlotte Hicks and James Miller finished fourth.
