Richard Gere in Riga: Interview on Tibet, Ukraine, Trump, and 'Pretty Woman'
Hollywood actor Richard Gere gave an interview in Riga, speaking about his human rights activism, support for Tibet, the war in Ukraine, his father, and the film 'Pretty Woman'.

World-famous actor Richard Gere, known to millions for his role in 'Pretty Woman', has in recent years become more recognized for his human rights advocacy and spiritual pursuits. While in Riga to present a film about the Dalai Lama, Gere gave an exclusive interview to Latvian Television's program 'One on One' with journalist Gundars Reders.
During the conversation, Gere shared his views on happiness and compassion, and commented on global events. He expressed his stance on the war in Ukraine and Donald Trump's politics, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and respect for human rights.
Gere also recalled his father, who lived nearly 101 years, and shared memories of filming 'Pretty Woman' with Julia Roberts. He noted that while the role is iconic, it does not define him – his work supporting Tibet and his spiritual journey are more significant.
