Data released by a Russian ministry covering the period from August 2024 to May 2025 reveals significant interest from several Western countries in relocating to Russia. The highest number of applications came from Germany (224), followed by Latvia (126), the United States (99), France (95), and Italy (82). These figures indicate a trend where some Western citizens seek a better life in Russia.

One immigrant who decided to leave the West admits he fell for Russian propaganda. He reflects that in the past, he would have been the one to write such a script himself. However, the reality turned out different – hopes for a better life have not materialized, and many face difficulties. The data shows a clear interest in moving to Russia, but the actual experience often differs from expectations.
