The Dutch neoclassical pop duo Haevn, also written HAEVN, will perform at the Palladium concert hall in Riga, Latvia, on 8 October 2027. The concert is part of the group's new European tour, “Anima”. The source does not say when tickets go on sale. The organisers have announced the date nearly a year in advance.
Who is Haevn
The duo formed in Amsterdam in 2015, when singer and songwriter Marijn van der Meer joined forces with film-music composer Jorrit Kleijnen. Their sound blends contemporary pop with the expressive tools of classical music. The organisers describe it as indie pop with symphonic elements and the atmosphere typical of film scores.
The duo first gained international attention with the songs “Where the Heart Is” and “Finding Out More”, which were used in advertising campaigns for the car brands Volvo and BMW. The songs reached high positions on the Shazam music-recognition app's charts in several European countries. The duo later established itself on the European alternative pop scene with compositions such as “Back in the Water”, “Fortitude” and “The Sea”.
The “Anima” tour
The tour's name comes from the Latin word for “soul”. According to the organisers, it reflects the duo's wish to return to the essence of making music, at a time when technology increasingly shapes how music is created. The emphasis is on the creative process, authenticity and human connection.
Alongside familiar songs, the concerts will include new, previously unheard pieces that will keep developing throughout the tour. Music will thus take shape not only in the recording studio but also on stage, through interaction with the audience.
Track record
According to the organisers, more than a million people listen to the duo's music every month. Haevn has sold out concerts at Le Trianon in Paris, the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London and AFAS Live in Amsterdam. It has also played at the Eurosonic Noorderslag, Lowlands and Rock Werchter festivals.
