BMW Driver Hits Woman in Riga's Āgenskalns and Leaves the Scene
On Saturday in Riga's Āgenskalns district, a BMW driver hit a woman in a car park after a dispute and drove away. The victim has gone to the police and is appealing for witnesses.

In Āgenskalns, a district of Riga, a BMW driver hit a woman in a car park after a dispute and drove off without stopping. The victim, Laura Vilkova, says it happened in front of her five-year-old daughter. Police have been notified, and she is appealing for eyewitnesses. The case was reported by the 360TV programme "Sadursme 360".
How the dispute began
According to Laura, her family reprimanded a man in Āgenskalns on Saturday. She says he and a woman were walking in the middle of the road, obstructing car traffic. The remark led to a sharp exchange of words, during which Laura says she was also insulted rudely.
When the family came out of a shop, the man, she says, went up to their car and spat on it. Laura's husband went after the man, while Laura tried to get him to stop so the situation could be talked through.
The collision and departure
The man managed to get into his BMW and pulled away quickly. Laura ended up on the bonnet of the car and then fell to the ground. The driver left without stopping to find out what had happened.
Paramedics from the Emergency Medical Service and police officers arrived at the scene. Laura has filed a report with the police, hoping to establish the circumstances. She says the incident left her in shock and that she finds it hard to understand the driver's actions.
Appeal to witnesses
Laura asks anyone who was at Pilsoņu iela 1C in Āgenskalns on Saturday between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and saw what happened to come forward. Dashcam footage that may have captured the conflict or the driver leaving would also help. She asks anyone with information to contact her privately.
