Rock Band Thirty Seconds To Mars Returns to Riga in Spring With Two Classic Albums

The American rock band Thirty Seconds To Mars will perform in Riga at Xiaomi Arena on 21 May. The concert is part of the new European tour "A Beautiful Lie vs. This Is War", which is dedicated to two albums whose songs have become classics of turn-of-the-century alternative rock. The concert in Latvia is organised by the concert agency FBI.

About the band

The group was founded in Los Angeles in 1998. Its creative core is made up of the brothers Jared Leto and Shannon Leto. The band's international breakthrough came with the 2005 album "A Beautiful Lie", which includes the songs "The Kill" and "From Yesterday". Four years later, in 2009, it was followed by "This Is War", which marked a new stage in the band's work. It features tracks such as "Kings and Queens", "This Is War" and "Closer to the Edge".

Awards and record

Over its career the band has received several MTV awards and a Billboard Music Award. The "This Is War" album is also linked to a Guinness World Records entry: during its concert tour the musicians played 309 shows in a little over two years.

Previous visits to Latvia

The band first visited Riga in 2011, during that same tour. The two previous concerts by the group in Latvia were almost completely sold out. The organisers hope the third will do even better.

The concert agency FBI stresses that the band's shows, with their visual effects, Jared Leto's energetic stage performance and close connection with the audience, have long gone beyond the bounds of an ordinary rock concert. In spring, more than 15 years after their first concert in Latvia, the musicians will perform songs that have become some of the best known of their career.
